Sanjay Singh tops Uttar Pradesh Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination with 160 marks


The results of Uttar Pradesh Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (UPPGMEE 2013) were declared on Friday. Among the top 10 candidates, who cleared the MD/MS/diploma entrance, four belong to the general category, while six, including the topper and second rank holder, belong to other backward castes. Sanjay Singh topped the exam with 160 marks, while Alpana missed the coveted spot by a mark, as she scored 159. The third spot went to Zeba Khanam who scored 156 marks, followed by Jadvir Singh (155), Ashok Kumar Jain (154), Ramveer Singh Yadav (153), Pradeep Kumar, Shitala Prasad, AK Saini, RN Verma and Vijay Gopal Agarwal (each scoring 152).
In the entrance examination for MDS course, Naseem Khan topped the charts scoring 164 marks, while Zuber Ahmad secured 159 marks. The third spot went to OP Verma securing 156 marks, followed closely by Satish Chand Goyal and Sunil Grover, both scoring 155 marks.

UPPGMEE was conducted by KGMU on April 23 at seven centres in Lucknow. A total of 3,229 candidates appeared for MD/MS/diploma courses in various medical colleges, institutes and medical universities of UP, while as many as 377 took exam for MDS courses in KGMU. This comprised 1206 OBC, 461 SC and 41 ST candidates.

There were 190 questions comprising 200 marks with no negative marking.

Counselling dates will be announced later and will be available on the website. The examination result had been withheld vide SC ruling and has now been declared vide SC order for lifting the ban on the result declaration and subsequent GO from UP government.
