NEET PG results 2013: Medicos protest delay

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET PG) aspirants protested against the delay in declaration of results. The medical aspirants wore black ribbons & took out protest rallies. It was expected that the results would be declared by January 31. The exam was conducted from November 23 and December 6.There are about 5,000 PG seats in medical colleges across the country. NEET-PG was introduced as an exam for admissions to MD/MS/Diploma courses in medical colleges (for both government and private) across India. About 90, 000 students have been affected by the delay of results.
The vacation of Supreme Court will start on May 13 and  will re-open on July 1. The delay has affected 90,000 students who now do not know whether they are to give up their jobs and get a seat in medical school. The deadline for counselling is May 31. There was some speculation that this deadline could be extended depending on when NEET-PG results would be declared.
The following arguments have been made:
>> Private, minority and deemed universities should only accept NEET-UG and NEET-PG
>> No other interviews or additional exams are allowed
>> Two state committees would ensure admission practices followed rules and regulations
Students now hope that a verdict will be reached soon. The Supreme Court goes on vacation on May 13 and only opens on July 1.
