Bihar to appoint 150 doctors for medical colleges

The Bihar government has decided to appoint 150 assistant professors in the next 15 days to fill up vacancies in the state run medical colleges, according to health minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey.
Replying to a query in the legislative council on Tuesday, the minister said it was for the first time in the last 17 years that appointment of medical teachers on such a large scale was being made.
According to the minister, the vacancies are being filled up to meet the requirements of the Medical Council of India (MCI). “We will soon appoint a significant number of retired teachers to fill up the vacant posts in various categories,” he said.
