Assam Bond Update


Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the meeting held on July 13 at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati, Assam has stated that henceforth all the students taking admission for PG courses in Assam (both all-India & state quota) will be required to serve in the rural areas for a period as stipulated by the govt. The provision of no stipend, no bond will no longer be there from the current admission session. About the duration of service, he wanted to implement it for 5 years, but on repeated requests by students he agreed to 1 year for this session only (i.e. those who have completed PG this year), and added that it will be 2-3 years from the next session.
